1. Membership
All persons working in the London Reinsurance Industry aged 35 or under shall be entitled to become a member of the Group (“Member(s)”).
Membership of the Group shall be free but attendance at certain events organised by the Group may be subject to a fee to be paid in full by the Member or their employer.
Members must abide by the principles contained within this Code of Conduct. A breach by a Member or their invited guests may result in their removal from the Group and any events the Group organise.
2. Aim of the Group
The aim of the Group is to promote and foster interest and knowledge in all areas of reinsurance; to provide a forum for topical comment, education and social interaction between members.
The Group is designed to be an inclusive organisation for the benefit of all its Members and the London reinsurance market generally.
3. Conduct of Members
All Members (and any guests they may invite to any events organised by The Group) must adhere to the following principles:
You acknowledge that the Group operates for the benefit of all its Members, regardless of race, age, sexuality, class, disability, gender, religious or political beliefs. Members should be prepared to support the Group with promoting equal opportunities within the reinsurance community.
You must not discriminate against or harass other people including other Members, volunteers, attendees, participants, suppliers / their employees, or any other person connected with an event organised by the Group.
You must not engage in any conduct or behaviour that could reasonably be considered offensive, intimidating, degrading or humiliating to others, whether related to protected characteristics (such as gender, ethnicity, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or gender identity) or otherwise, particularly in the professional networking and educational environment that the Group seeks to maintain.
You must respect the confidentiality of other individuals.
You must treat individuals with courtesy, respect and professionalism.
Members represent their respective companies and are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with standards that reflect positively on their individual companies and the wider reinsurance community.
Members are encouraged to challenge inappropriate behaviour, provided it is safe to do so or alternatively to report any concerns to the Chair, or other members, of the U35s Reinsurance Group Committee. You must comply with reasonable instructions issued by the Group regarding your attendance at any Group event.
Members will be responsible for the conduct of any guests that they have invited to any events organised by The Group.
This Code of Conduct may be revised by the U35s Reinsurance Group Committee from time to time.
